Bill
C. Brown is an entrepreneur who began selling life insurance as an Indiana
University student; 48 years later, his firm Bill C. Brown Associates services
over 11,000 individuals and over 500 groups. Mr. Brown is the land developer
behind the Bloomington-area Park 37, an 80-plus-acre commercial and industrial
park located at State Road 45 and the 37 Bypass, and Park 48, a 155-plus-acre
retail and industrial park on State Road 48. Additionally, Mr. Brown’s Black
Mountain Center for Research & Development comprises 225 acres in the Asheville,
North Carolina area. Mr. Brown is also the proprietor of Century Suites Hotel,
Chapman’s Restaurant, and Hidden Hills Golf Course, all in the Bloomington
area. He currently serves on the Indiana University Foundation Board of
Directors and the Foundation’s development committee for buildings, the Center
for Human Growth Advisory Board, and several other business and philanthropic
community boards. Mr. Brown served in the Army during the Korean conflict. In
2011, Mr. Brown was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from OneAmerica,
the nationwide insurance/financial network. He has been a director of Bloomfield
State Bank since 2002 and is on the Loan Committee.
