The
Hon. Edward W. “Ted” Najam, Jr. is a judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals,
where he has served for 19 years, and currently represents the judiciary on the
Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s Counter-Terrorism and Security
Council. Mr. Najam graduated “with highest distinction” from Indiana University,
where he was elected student-body president. He is also a graduate of Harvard
Law School and has been an Indiana lawyer for 39 years. Before joining the Court
of Appeals, he spent two years as administrative assistant to the Mayor of
Bloomington and 18 years in private practice, during which time he represented
Bloomfield State Bank as outside counsel for some 16 years. Mr. Najam has been
a member of the Bloomington Rotary Club and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of
Commerce and is a past president of the Monroe County YMCA Board of Directors.
He has extensive experience as an owner and manager of commercial real estate.
Mr. Najam was one of several investors who purchased and helped grow the First
National Bank of Paoli, where he was also a member of the board. Mr. Najam has
been a director of Bloomfield State Bank for 15 years and serves on the Loan
Committee and Audit Committee.
