Roland
F. Nobis is an entrepreneur in multiple fields. Born, raised, and educated
in Germany, Mr. Nobis came to Indiana to take a position as an electronics
engineer. In a classic example of the American dream, he eventually ventured
to start his own firm in his garage, building it (PTS Electronics) to a
$12-million company with 500 employees across 33 states. Mr. Nobis has
extensive knowledge of owning and managing manufacturing companies and
commercial real estate, and he is an experienced investor specializing in
startups. Besides Bloomfield State Bank, he is currently involved with four
other enterprises: Biomedix, Indiana MRI, Rono Corp., and Tannenbaum Event
Center. Mr. Nobis is a former member of the World Presidents’ Organization
of Entrepreneurs. His experiences on four different continents, he says,
have given him “a pretty good understanding of the business and social
community around the world.” Mr. Nobis sat on the board of the First
National Bank of Paoli for several years, working to substantially increase
that bank’s value. Additionally, Mr. Nobis helped guide the startup of
Hometown National Bank in New Albany. Mr. Nobis has served on Bloomfield
State Bank’s board for over 25 years and is on the Loan Committee.
