    Bloomfield State Bank's Newberry Banking Center History

     

        In 1957 the first branch was opened in Newberry to serve one of the most prosperous agricultural areas in Greene County.  This branch was managed by W.D. Whitaker and assisted by Marceil Ammer.  It had immediate communications with the Bloomfield Office by short wave radio phone.
